KIK Consumer Brands – Pool Division


KIK’s Pool Additives Division (“Pool”) is a leading player in North America and key international markets with a broad brand and product portfolio spanning both the Mass and Specialty Retailer channels. We are well known for our Clorox®Pool&Spa products in the North American Mass channel, our BioGuard® brand in the North American, Australian and South Africa Specialty channel, and our Bayrol brand across Europe. Our multi-functional product formulations and innovative water testing innovations allow pool owners to safely and easily enjoy their backyard retreat.


KIK Consumer Brands – Household Division


Our Household Division (“Household”) is the #1 player in North American private label bleach, and supplies private label cleaning programs to prominent American retailers. Although Household started as a small bleach plant in Concord, Ontario, we have since expanded to a network of 8 plants strategically located across the United States to efficiently manufacture a variety of cleaners for both hard and soft surfaces. In addition to its private label portfolio, Household manufactures and markets Greased Lighting® and The Works® branded products.


We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Mechanic at our Conyers, Georgia manufacturing facility that will report directly to the Plant Maintenance Engineer.


Essential Job Functions



The Maintenance Lead Mechanic is an integral part of the plant Leadership team. The maintenance lead is responsible for the overall coordination activities of maintenance technicians in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery equipment. This individual ensures that production requests are met promptly and that all equipment operates in a safe working order. This role is based at the Conyers, Georgia manufacturing facility.




  • Directs the maintenance work force and provides on-site expertise.
  • Makes certain that work is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reviews work planning and scheduling with the Plant Operation’s team.
  • Confirms quality of work adhering to all safety standards.
  • Ensures that equipment availability is adequate to meet the production plan.
  • Works with plant or production supervision to ensure any operator performed maintenance duties are facilitated.
  • Works with the Plant Engineer to ensure all maintenance craft employees are properly qualified and trained for all maintenance work assigned.
  • Enforces environmental regulations.
  • Champions proactive maintenance vs. reactive maintenance.
  • Administers encouragement and coaching to direct employees.
  • Implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Works with procurement and external vendors for purchase of supplies, parts, and obtaining competitive bids for equipment.
  • Develops work plans for major maintenance overhauls and outages.
  • Awareness of Maintenance team's budget.
  • Utilizes downtime data to drive preventive maintenance plans.
  • Reinforces Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Attends Tier 2 meetings and drives open action items to completion.
  • Coaches maintenance mechanics in job performance and manages time-off requests.
  • Oversees and performs “hands-on” maintenance tasks as required.


  • Forge relationships with business partners throughout the site and across all shifts. Communicate well and clearly, taking the time to understand all manufacturing processes and the maintenance of all plant equipment.


Requirements & Skills


  • Previous hands on experience with assembly line machinery including basic PLC & electrical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent reading, writing and math skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and mechanical skills. Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills; familiar with using MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal/employee relations skills.
  • Ability to influence culture from reactive to proactive maintenance methodologies.
  • Must be willing to work off-shift hours (as needed).
  • At least a two year associates degree in industrial engineering/technology/related discipline or applicable work experience.  Must have prior experience in a preventative maintenance organization.
