KIK’s Pool Additives Division (“Pool”) is a leading player in North America and key international markets with a broad brand and product portfolio spanning both the Mass and Specialty Retailer channels. We are well known for our Clorox® Pool&Spa™ products in the North American Mass channel, our BioGuard® brand in the North American, Australian and South Africa Specialty channel, and our Bayrol brand across Europe. Our multi-functional product formulations and innovative water testing innovations allow pool owners to safely and easily enjoy their backyard retreat.

At this time, our Lake Charles, LA  Manufacturing facility has three openings in the Shipper-Packer enter level position.

Essential Job Functions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • The product is packaged in one of three ways: Super sacks, drums or buckets.
  • The shipper – packer is responsible for determining the correct packaging material, visually inspect packaging for defects and staging correct packaging material for required specified product on a daily basis before packaging finished product.
  • Responsible for reworking recycled product back into the correct mix if product is not in specification.
  • The shipper – packer is responsible for dumping and blending the correct product agents based on specification, monitoring the filling stations, monitors the flow as well as product level in the tote bins, then places the product on a loading station, using forklift.
  • Excessive product must be placed in either tote bins or super sacks and reworked into process.
  • Upon completion of container / package the shipper – packer must place the correct identification labels, assign lot numbers and a sample taken for QAQC certification on the package daily.
  • The container must be transported by forklift for 24 hour storage. Responsible for filing all inventory tags in the designed file in numerical order and complete the required production reports for inventory control reporting. Responsible for housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor. Must be able to clearly follow instructions, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

  • Employee must possess a High School Diploma or GED.  Preferred 1 year of Forklift Experience.
  • Ability to perform shift work with some overtime and call-outs.
  • Ability to speak and comprehend verbal instruction with respirator on in order to effectively communicate with coworkers as well as monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to operator a forklift while wearing a negative full face respirator.
  • Must be able to wear a negative full face respirator.
  • Must be able to wear SCBA gear during emergency situations.
  • Pass physical and drug testing.
